Company History
WECO Rentals first opened its doors in 1983. A common question over the years has been, “where did you get the name WECO”? WECO is an acronym for Wright Equipment Company. Wright Equipment Company was an iconic business started in Abingdon by B.K. Wright in 1958. They offered John Deere Construction Equipment, Farm Equipment, and Outdoor Power Equipment. B.K. Wright’s son, Harold Wright, started WECO Rentals and ran it successfully in addition to Wright Equipment Company until his death in 1999. WECO Rentals was purchased from Harold’s estate by David Hale & Matthew Owens shortly thereafter.

There have been many innovations and changes to the business environment over the years, but the keys to our success have not changed.
